People With Developmental Disabilities
Prioritized for Covid-19 Vaccine
While Ontario is now in Phase Two of the Covid-19 vaccination program, people with a developmental disability are now prioritized to receive vaccines under the category “Individuals with Health Concerns.” As part of this prioritized group are essential caregivers. Specifically, the description of essential caregivers on the Ministry Covid-19 website is as follows:
An essential caregiver is someone providing direct, frequent and sustained in-person personal care and/or assistance with activities of daily living to the individual (with an intellectual or developmental disability).
